My silly husband thinks that holding his arm up helps alleviate stress and says it feels good. Can you settle this debate? It seems strange to me, it looks like he is always waiting to be called on like a school kid. Thank you, Arms down in Osage Beach Dear Downer, There is some evidence supporting your husband’s claims. It seems he is searching for strategies to deal with stress. An adjustment might be exactly what he needs! I look forward to meeting him and discussing his philosophy. Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
Happy new Year! I wish my back was happy. This ice storm has taken its toll on my entire body. I slipped on the ice enroute to get a scraper to clean my car, then spent three hours working on sidewalk clearing. When I finally warmed up the stiffness set in. My wife warned that my special elixir “hot toddy” would not fix me. I was thinking one might be the answer, and five would be better! Now I’m hungover, stiff, dehydrated and can barely walk. Please advise, more “hot toddy”? Iced Down in Osage Beach Dear Toddy, First and foremost, it is important to understand “All Hot Toddy’s” are not created equal! I understand and admire your attempt at self-medication. You would probably benefit more from an adjustment and we can provide a 7- or 14-day detox. Not exactly a hot toddy, but chocolate and vanilla are both delicious! Ice is temporary, your health….. Looking forward to hearing your “hot toddy” recipes! Always here to help, Dr. Aaron

This is a strange question. My grandfather does not believe wearing skinny jeans helps your posture! I saw it on the internet, in an ad for said skinny jeans! Grandpa said a dud who wears skinny jeans is not even a dude! The Geisha girls bound their feet to keep them from growing, some indigenous tribes stretched their necks, skinny jeans surely have an effect on one’s body, right? Thank you in advance for helping me prove gramps wrong! Skinnyjeans for life in Osage Beach Dear Skinnyjeans, Respect for our elders is very important. Especially when they are absolutely correct! Get yourself a pair of overralls, (one of my patients calls them farmeralls) and start living life! I will not go into all of the reasons skinny jeans are not the best attire from a health stand point, listen to your very wise grandfather! Always here for you, Dr Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
Long time follower, new at asking questions! Is it possible for people to tell the weather by the achiness of their joints? My grandpa swears he knows when it is going to rain, and I never know if he is just telling grandpa stories or he is being for real. He complains about his back constantly and is worried he is going to be required to visit 13 times in 14 days and will have to get x-rays and the list goes on, Im thinking he would have great benefit from chiropractic care. Thank you for listening, Grandpa’s listening post in Camdenton Dear Post, Thank you for your questions!! I learned a long, long, time ago to respect my elders! If grandpa said its going to rain, I’m wearing a raincoat. I believe the accuracy of people in grandpas’ category (wise men) are equally as accurate predicting the weather as modern-day meteorologists! I would love for you to bring Grandpa by for a visit, if we determine an adjustment is appropriate, he can make the decision at that time. An evaluation is the only way to know for sure the best way forward. I do not have a set number each patient must visit; I work with my patients to get them feeling their best! Stay cool! Drink water, and remember deer season is just around the corner! Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
I hope your summer has been more enjoyable than mine. My wife decided that “we” should lose some weight. By we she meant me.. She does the shopping and cooking and at first it was ok, you know just same food but smaller portions. Then the big day came when she watched me weigh-in, I am pretty sure the scale read “To Be Continued!” she was in disbelief, I actually gained a pound!! I was ready to go back to my regular way of eating, but she took this weight-loss as a challenge. It has been miserable!! She bought Faba-Butter….. never having heard of Faba Butter I actually read the label- FabaButter is made from chickpea liquid, coconut cream, sunflower oil, and nutritional yeast. I like my peas with lots of real butter! Oh my goodness, how is a guy supposed to mow the yard with Faba Butter in his system? Now my back is all out of whack! I am convinced it’s my diet, my wife says I need a Chiropractor. Before I try chiropractic treatment, I gotta find someone not on the Faba Anything train! Dr. Aaron do you eat Faba Butter? Wannabe FabaFree in Osage Beach Dear Wannabe, I must say this is a first! I have had patients that said - I wannabe rich, I wannabe famous, I wannabe skinny, I wannabe healthy, I wannabe pain free. You are the first to ever say I wannbe FabaFree. I have not tried FabaButter, I am willing to try most things once! Even jumping out of a good airplane, and I may like it! Do you think it would pair well with a big baked potato? You are lucky your wife cares enough to aid you in your weight loss journey, maybe buy her a big bag of M&M’s and put them in a fancy container to say thank you! (she will not know how many you tasted during the gift wrap operation!! Come in for an adjustment and tell me more about your FabaButter experience. Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
I took my grand kids to a concert at the Ozarks Amphitheater last night. The artist was Walker Hayes, I thought we were going to see Walker- Texas Ranger, (they are not the same person). I didn’t know many of the songs but near the end of the show he played that Applebee's on a date night song- something I knew!!! I danced like I was 12 years old, it was so much fun!! When I got home the realization set in, I am not 12 years old anymore. Can I get a Saturday appointment? A few too many Oreo shakes and extra whipped cream has me feeling like 112! Dancing Grandpa in Osage Beach Dear dancing Gramps, Memories like that last forever, the aches and pains don’t have to. Call today we will figure something out. I could use a good date night at Applebee's. Remember to stay hydrated and stretch gently until we can get you fixed up! Always here for you, Dr. Aaron P.S. Do they still have Oreo shakes?
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
Being a medical professional, I am sure you can solve this dispute between my husband and I. It started last week while I was working in my garden, I asked for him to help me move some heavy bags of fertilizer. He helped and later found two ticks on his legs. He is stubborn beyond belief and no longer trusts me with tweezers (an eyebrow incident 5 years ago) He spent so long twisted trying to get the ticks out he is in horrible pain. I don’t want him hurting, but it kind of serves him right! I could of had those things out in a few seconds! Anyway, this started a discussion about ticks. My super smart husband believes ticks to be the origin of the vampire lore. “Ticks attach to you and suck your blood, it is as obvious as day and night’ he keeps saying. Now he is saying the tick bites are causing his back pain and stiffness. Can you help him before he turns into a tick? Should I wear a garlic necklace? Carry a wooden stake? Thank you, Out of silver bullets in Brumley Dear Silver-less, Put down the wooden stake, throw the garlic on a steak, pick up the phone and make an appointment! Your Hubby makes some valid points and certainly worth consideration. Tick borne sickness is serious. Keep an eye on those bites. Many of my customers have replenished their supply of silver bullets lately….. oops another response for another question! Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
I hope you can help me! I just turned 19 and came home from college to work and enjoy the lake this summer. Three years ago when we moved to the lake, My dad started teasing me about my long skinny toes. He made so many comments about fish mistaking them for worms, and it really grosses me out. I googled fish and feet and there are some really weird things in this world!!! I saw a video on the internet where a Chiropractor fixed someone’s toes by adjusting them, is that something you can do? Can you make my toes look less like fish bait? One of my girlfriends had really stinky feet and she had shots in her feet to make them less offensive. Thank you, Baitfeet in Brumley Dear Baitfeet, Sometimes dad’s use the sacred trust with their children to get them to be a little more wary of things they “hear”. Adjusting toes will not make them shorter. However, good foot health is the foundation for a healthy body! If you are worried about the fish, closed toe water shoes are very popular and may help your ‘grossed out” problem. For myself, I will wiggle anything I can to get the fish in the net! Enjoy your summer, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
I was very happy and lucky to be able to spend Mother’s Day with my children and grandchildren. They were so excited to take me for ride after ride in their side-by-side thing. I am not as flexible and adventurous as I once was, but their enthusiasm made up for it. We hit so many big bumps I’m pretty sure I am 3” shorter! Can you help? Shorter than I should be in Iberia Dear Shorter, It sounds like a great celebration with family! I am sure we can help you out with an adjustment and a little time on the decompression table. I cannot promise it will make you taller (I may have tried) but it will help you get back to being more adventurous! Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
I am nervous about asking such personal questions in a public forum, but this seems like the best option. My husband and I both enjoy playing Pickleball. He more than me. When we play, he gets really sweaty, like icky sweaty. Is there a supplement or something available to make him less icky? I love him to pieces and I am not sure how to tell him without hurting his feelings.. Wanting less “ick” in Osage Beach Dear Less Ick, Sweating is natural when we exert energy, has he been checked by your regular doctor for any special circumstances? As far as hurting his feelings, well I am 100% positive he would rather know you find him icky so he can address the situation than find out when it is too late. Be positive, be kind, and I am sure he will appreciate your communication. There are many over the counter remedies as well as prescriptions available. My grand dad used to say, “you don’t go to a dentist to get your toe fixed!” in this case, “you don’t go to a chiropractor to get your ick fixed”.
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
I am writing to voice a complaint! I came in for my very first adjustment ever about 3 months ago. I was in pain and your treatment provided immediate, well almost immediate relief. I felt better than I had in years!! I started golfing again, and now I am starting to feel some pain again? I thought you fixed me? I am 63 years old, and I like feeling good! Confused in Linn Creek Dear Confused, If I am understanding you correctly, your complaint is you are feeling pain again? Our everyday activities are often the stressors causing the initial need for treatment, changing lifestyle is difficult, and adding new stimulus to the body can sometimes create new ailments. Consistent care program helps to alleviate ups and downs with aches and pains. Imagine only brushing your teeth once, and expecting them to stay healthy forever… Looking forward to seeing you again soon! Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
- Dear Dr. Aaron,
Long time follower, first time questioner! My husband considers himself an expert outdoorsman and hunter-gatherer. I am always impressed with his stories and up until turkey season he always brought home a trophy. This year his outdoorsmanship is catching up with him and he refuses to admit glasses would be advantageous and a chiropractic adjustment would do him some good. His ‘trophy’ this season was about 75% the size of his first season and he swears his calibrated arm proves this is his biggest bird yet! I love him dearly; do you think maybe an adjustment might recalibrate his super power of weighing birds with a simple 3 second hold? Please give me a tip or two to help me persuade him to visit you! Thank you, Half a bird shy of Thanksgiving dinner Dear Shy One, Obviously, I’m an advocate for chiropractic treatment and total wellness, but this is one instance where I have to take your husbands side. A true hunter-gatherer spends time in nature learning and earning their skills. It is not for me to determine another sportsman’s level of accuracy, whether it be the weight of a bird or the length of a fish. I too have been able to earn a degree of “expertness’ when hunting and fishing, and I am pretty sure my early winter crappie was a state record fish, if I wouldn’t have had numb fingers, I could have held him long enough for a picture or maybe even an official weigh-in… It sounds as if you two have a great relationship and he is still trying to impress you! Let him!! I hope to meet both of you, ask him to bring you to an appointment and I am positive we can share some good hunting stories! Always here for you, Dr. Aaron
